Where are you walking to?

Here is my t-shirt!

Virtual Walk

I am joining the virtual walk!  Betty and Lisa are both doing it and I wanted to be in on it to. It looks like so much fun.  Of course my miles will be run and not walked (well still kinda like a walk/jog thing going on) but I think this will give me lots more motivation to get my butt out the door and get those miles in.

The fact that my best friend, Linda, lives in Pensacola, gives me lots of reasons to want to walk/run to see her.  That and I have to get those miles in for marathon training!  Don't forget to donate if you get a chance!

Pics didn't show up

These are the girls I am running in memory of or in honor of.  I want you all to understand though that just because the ones that I am running for personally are not the only ones that are suffering.  All ages, sex and race are hurt by leukemia.  Mine must all happen to be young females.

Fundraising letter

Dear Friends and Family,

Yes I know I said I was never going to do it again.  I know, I said it many times!  After each marathon I say I can never do another, it just hurt too bad!  But then…………I start thinking, I start thinking about Lindsay, I start thinking about Jordyn.  I think about the fact that they are no longer with us.  They are no longer with us because leukemia took them from us.  Then I start thinking…………..there still isn’t a cure!  Then I KNOW I have to run again.  I have to run till there is a cure.  I have to run till no other family has to feel the pain that Lindsay’s family felt, till no other family has to feel the pain that Jordyn’s family felt.  That means I have to run and raise money to help find a cure.

Then each time I run I find a new reason I need to run.  My new reason to run is Aleison.  Aleison is a 6 year old girl with A.L.L.  She loves cheerleading.  She is an awesome cheerleader.  I want her to remain a cheerleader.  Aleison was diagnoised with A.L.L. on March 1st, 2007.  She has been through treatment, YUCK!  She is in remission!  YEAH!

I am training for another marathon for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.  The Bayshore marathon in Traverse City Michigan, May 24th.  I will run all the miles for training,  I will run all the miles to complete the marathon.  I need you to help me raise the funds to do so.  I need you to help me find a cure!!  Cash, check, credit card, whatever you choose, just choose to help.  Online, through the mail, in person, the choice is yours.  Just please make the choice to help.  My web site to donate on line is

I have enclosed a self addressed, stamped envelope for you to use.  Please make checks payable to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.  All donations are tax deductible.

I have a goal to raise $3000.  Every dollar helps!  Deadline is March 15th 2007!  Thank you!

Lindsay, Jordyn and Aleison

This is the letter that I will be sending out to all friends and family for donations!  What do you think?

Marathon

Yes I am doing another marathon for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.  Every time I finish one I say I am never doing another.  But then I see pictures of Lindsay (my niece who passed away from Leukemia) Jordyn (Christy's daughter who passed away also)  or Josh (my honored hero from the last marathon who is in remission!!! Praise the Lord!) and I know that there is no cure yet.  So I run.  So I raise funds.  The pain of doing those two things can not even compare to the pain that everyone who struggles with leukemia goes though.  (not only the patient but the patients family and friends as well)  So here I go again.  I am sure that most of you will recieve an email (some of you may get two since they were sent from my work email I wasn't sure if you would know who it was so I put my screen name in the subject of the 2nd email!) asking to donate.  Please help if you can.  Even a dollar helps get me toward my goal.  If you do not recieve an email or if you delete it by mistake, here is  the link to donate on line.

Nice matters!

Trish nominated me for the Nice Matters award.  Thank you so much!  Now it is my turn to nominate five people.  Alot of people have already been nominated so I will try not to duplicate.

My first nomination will be for Ariel.  Ariel is such a sweet girl.  She is fighting just as hard as I am right now to lose weight.  She is a beautiful girl!

My second one is for Dad.  I love reading Dad's journal.  Dad is 94 and still writes each morning.  What an inspiration he is!  It is almost tomato time so Dad is getting restless to be able to go out and plant those plants!

My third nomination is Mary.  I love Mary.  She is so kind and concerned about others all the time.  She is taking a little break from journaling right now but I am hoping she will be back quickly!

My fourth one is Teresa.  I just love Teresa's journal.  She has been gone from home for a bit now but she is back home with her family now and I am looking forward to her posting again.

My fifth is Hadon.  I have been reading Hadon for a long time.  He works a long way from his home now and doesn't post as much as he used.  I wish he would. I miss hearing about his kids!

So there is my five!  I didn't mean to exclude anyone if I did. I think your all the best!
